Failing Promises: The Reality of UK Immigration Policies
Blog post descriImmigration to the UK is spiralling out of control. Nearly a million net migrants arrived last year alone due to Labour and Conservative failures, costing Britain dearly. Low-wage, illegal immigrants drain resources, making us poorer. Lack of checks means we don't know who enters, potentially including criminals. Sunak and Starmer's promises to fix this are empty. Reform UK demands immediate action: secure borders, prioritise British public safety, and implement smart immigration serving Britain's interests, not overwhelming services. Enough is enough.ption.

Immigration to the UK is spiralling out of control.
Low-wage illegal immigrants cost the country more than they contribute, making everyone poorer. The Labour government opened the door to illegal immigration, and the Conservative government exploited it for its own political ends to showcase economic growth.
In the past year alone, nearly one million net migrants arrived in the UK, many of them relatives of key workers. This number is close to the population of Birmingham, which stands at approximately 1.1 million people. Over the last five years, net migration to the UK has reached 2.5 million people, roughly equivalent to the population of the West Midlands, which is around 2.9 million people.
Many of the illegal immigrants who arrive by small boats come from war-torn countries, where the value of human life differs significantly from our own. Many could be suffering from PTSD due to atrocities encountered, which could result in behaviour different from that of most British citizens. Since many illegal immigrants destroy their identification before landing on British shores, we have no way of knowing if they have a criminal background. If people are going to arrive illegally as a minimum they need to be assessed for there mental health and criminal background. If they cannot be proven to be safe, they should not be allowed to interact with British people. The safety of the British public MUST come first.
Rishi Sunak promised to stop the boats, and Sir Keir Starmer pledged to smash the gangs. Both promises have proven to be nothing more than bluster and sound bites. Rishi lacked the courage to take necessary actions due to the Conservative Party's internal divisions, and has been shown, it was never truly Labour policy; it was merely rhetoric to get elected. They believe in immigration but fail to understand the real consequences for the average working person.
Smart Migration can be good for our country bringing in much needed skills to grow the economy. However, migration under both the Conservatives and Labour has been allowed to happen without any plan, without the consent of the people, without the construction of a single new school, road, hospital, or house to accommodate the new arrivals. This demonstrates clear incompetence on the part of the governments over the last 25 years.
Who allows 2.5 million people immigrate to a country without a plan?
